MEDIUM: Digital Photography
|
My mission is quite simple: to prove the existence of God using the
lens of the camera. As a result of this mission, I have learned that, while nature is everywhere around us, and
there are a myriad of photographic opportunities, one must develop patience: waiting, minutes or hours, finger poised
over the shutter button, for the exact right light to capture those absolute perfect shots—those shots that, when
printed, matted and framed, leave the viewer with the unflappable knowledge that God truly does exist.
|
While on this mission, I have also discovered that I am a hunter—hunting
for that perfectly leafed tree; the waterfall that has reached its ideal fullness; the creek bed that has succumbed to
summer drought, leaving nothing more than a trickling stream; that lake that, at sunset becomes a mirror, reflecting
and distorting its surroundings. Hunting these things down, capturing them with my camera completes me.
When I see the product of my efforts, I am left speechless and in awe of the things that God has done.

All of my photographs are taken with digital cameras and are unaltered
with the exception of minor noise removal and/or light adjustment. It is my belief that it would not only be rude,
but nearly impossible to improve that which has already been made perfectly.
